Educational visits to Hartsholme Country Park
Hartsholme Country Park and Swanholme Lakes Local Nature Reserve comprises of over 200 acres of woodland, meadow, heathland and wetland where children can learn about the natural environment. We welcome visits from school, youth, community and adult groups and offer both Ranger and self-led activities.
Sessions and activities
We have an Education Ranger who can lead all or part of your visit, using our education areas. Sessions and activities are available for all ages from pre-school to adult. Alternatively, we can facilitate a self led visit led by your own staff.
We have a varied programme of activities, set out in our education leaflet. These are linked to the national curriculum, and all sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit your group.

Alternatively you could come into the Visitor Centre open from 11.00am till 4.00pm. All school parties must book in advance.
Clothing and weather
Any participants in sessions/activities must be suitably dressed for outdoor study in hot, cold or wet weather. Activities normally take place whatever the weather.
Ranger led activities are available Tuesday to Friday between 10.00am and 4.30pm at a cost of £55.00 for 2 hours for groups of up to 30 individuals
Self-led activities are available from Monday to Friday and some weekends by prior arrangement between 10.00am and 4.30pm at a cost of £5.60 per hour for the hire of the activity box. A £20.00 returnable deposit required.
The classroom is also available which can accommodate an average class size, at a cost of £5.60 per hour.

Hartsholme Country Cark and Swanholme Lakes Local Nature Reserve is 3 miles south west from the centre of Lincoln. The entrance to the park is on the B1378 Skellingthorpe Road . The post code is LN6 0EY
Health and Safety
At Hartsholme Country Park the safety of visiting groups is considered of paramount importance. As such we aim to assist whenever possible to make your visit a safe and enjoyable one. We provide health and safety guidance and also offer pre-visits to familiarise yourself with the park. On booking a visit, we can send you risk assessments for any of our ranger led activities.
